Summary
Potentilla crantzii, commonly known as Alpine Cinquefoil or Crantz’s Cinquefoil, is a perennial herb that thrives in the alpine and subalpine zones of Europe. This plant is adapted to harsh conditions, often found in alpine grasslands, rocky slopes, and screes. It has a moderate growth rate, reaching a height of 0.1-0.5 feet (0.03-0.2 meters) and spreading 0.5-1 feet (0.2-0.3 meters). Alpine Cinquefoil is characterized by its palmate leaves and bright yellow flowers, which bloom in the summer and are moderately showy, attracting pollinators.
Alpine Cinquefoil is valued for its ability to thrive in challenging mountainous environments and its attractive yellow flowers, which add a splash of color to rock gardens, alpine collections, and border fronts.
