Summary
Myriopteris gracillima, commonly known as Lace Lipfern, is an evergreen perennial herb that thrives in the understory of dry, rocky slopes and canyon walls within the arid and semi-arid regions of the Western United States, particularly in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. It typically grows to a height and width of 1-2 feet (0.3-0.6 meters), forming delicate, lace-like fronds that are highly ornamental. The Lace Lipfern’s fronds are finely dissected, giving them a textured appearance that adds visual interest to shaded garden areas.
Lace Lipfern is valued for its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in challenging conditions, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and rock gardens. It is also suitable for shaded borders and as an understory plant in dry woodland settings.
