Summary
Muhlenbergia emersleyi, commonly known as Bullgrass, is an evergreen perennial grass native to open woodlands, grasslands, and rocky slopes in the Southwestern USA, particularly in Arizona and New Mexico, as well as in parts of Mexico and Central America. It typically grows to a height and width of 2-3 feet (0.6-0.9 meters), forming dense clumps of fine-textured, blue-green foliage. The plant produces airy, purplish inflorescences in late summer to fall, which are highly ornamental and can add a soft, feathery texture to the landscape.
