Lycopsis arvensis, commonly known as Small Bugloss, Annual Bugloss, or simply Bugloss, is an annual herb that is native to Europe and Asia. It typically grows rapidly to a height of 0.5-2 feet (0.15-0.6 meters) and has a branching habit with hairy stems and leaves. The plant features small, bright blue flowers with five petals that bloom in the spring and summer, providing a modest display of color. The flowers are not particularly showy but are attractive to pollinators such as bees.

Small Bugloss is often considered a weed in cultivated fields but can be used in wildflower gardens for its blue blooms and to support wildlife. It is drought-tolerant and thrives in full sun, making it suitable for xeriscaping. It adapts to a range of soil types, including clay, loam, or sandy soils, provided they have medium or fast drainage.
