Hemerocallis citrina, commonly known as the Citron Daylily or Long Yellow Daylily, is a perennial herb native to forest margins, grassy slopes, and meadows in East Asia, including China and Korea. It thrives at elevations up to 6562 feet (2000 meters). This species typically grows to a height of 35-47 inches (89-119 cm) and features arching, bright green leaves. The Citron Daylily is celebrated for its lemon yellow, trumpet-shaped, and notably fragrant flowers that bloom from June to July, adding a splash of color to the garden during the summer months. The flowers are not only showy but also edible, with a slightly sweet and floral flavor.

The Citron Daylily is valued for its low maintenance, tolerance of a range of soil conditions, and ability to naturalize in suitable climates. It is commonly used in border plantings, as a ground cover, and in cottage gardens. It prefers full sun to part shade, with well-draining soil being ideal for optimal growth.
