Fuchsia thymifolia, commonly known as Thyme-leaved Fuchsia, is an evergreen shrub native to the cloud forests and moist mountain areas of Central and Northern Mexico. It typically grows to a height and width of 3-9 feet (0.9-2.7 meters). This species is characterized by its small, dark green leaves that resemble those of thyme and its delicate, drooping red flowers that bloom in the spring and are quite showy, attracting hummingbirds and other pollinators.

Thyme-leaved Fuchsia is valued for its year-round foliage and charming flowers, making it a popular choice for shaded garden areas, patios, and as a potted plant. It thrives in part shade to full shade conditions and prefers consistently moist soil with good drainage. It rewards gardeners with a long flowering season.
