Summary
Eucalyptus rudis, commonly known as Western Australian Floodedgum, is an evergreen tree native to riparian zones, floodplains, and wetlands of Southwestern Australia. It typically grows to a height of 35-45 feet (11-14 meters) and a width of 20-24 feet (6-7 meters). The tree is characterized by its rough, fibrous bark on the lower trunk and larger branches, with smooth greyish bark higher up. The adult leaves are lance-shaped to curved, and the tree produces flower buds in groups of seven to eleven. Its white to cream flowers are showy and appear mainly from July to November, followed by bell-shaped, cup-shaped, or hemispherical fruit. The trunk tends to be short with a poor form, leading to a wide-spreading crown.
