Dichondra micrantha, commonly known as lawnleaf dichondra or kidney weed, is a perennial ground cover plant native to open woodlands and grassy areas in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It forms a dense mat of small, rounded, kidney-shaped leaves, which are a rich green in color. This low-growing plant typically reaches only a few inches in height but can spread widely. Dichondra micrantha produces small, inconspicuous greenish-yellow flowers in the spring and summer that are not particularly showy.

Lawnleaf dichondra is valued for its ability to form a dense, carpet-like ground cover, which can be an alternative to traditional grass lawns, especially in warm climates. It is also used in hanging baskets and as a spill-over plant in container gardens. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil.
