Bidens triplinervia, commonly known as Gold Coin, is an evergreen perennial herb native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, including Mexico. It typically grows to a height of 1-3 feet (0.3-0.9 meters) and a width of 1-2 feet (0.3-0.6 meters). In its natural habitat, it thrives in moist, well-drained soils found in open woodlands, forest edges, and along streams or rivers. The plant features a bushy habit with finely divided, lance-shaped leaves and a profusion of daisy-like flowers with vibrant red, orange, and yellow hues that bloom in summer and fall, attracting pollinators such as butterflies and bees.

Gold Coin is valued for its long flowering season and showy blossoms, which add a splash of color to garden borders, containers, and as a ground cover. It is relatively easy to maintain, requiring only regular watering and occasional trimming to promote bushier growth. While it prefers full sun, it can tolerate partial shade and is adaptable to a variety of soil types, provided they have good drainage.
