Baccharis thesioides, commonly known as Arizona Baccharis, is an evergreen subshrub native to arid and semi-arid regions, including desert scrub, chaparral, and pinyon-juniper woodlands in the Southwestern USA and Mexico. It typically grows to a height of 2-3 feet (0.6-0.9 meters) and a width of 1-2 feet (0.3-0.6 meters). This plant has a compact form with small, narrow leaves and produces an abundance of yellow and white flowers in the summer and fall, which are modest in size but can be quite showy due to their profusion.

Arizona Baccharis is valued for its drought tolerance and ability to thrive in challenging environments, making it a suitable choice for xeriscaping and naturalistic plantings. It is often used for erosion control, as a low hedge, or in wildlife gardens, as it provides food for pollinators and birds. While it prefers full sun or part shade, it is adaptable to a range of soil types, provided they have good drainage. It is relatively low-maintenance, requiring only occasional pruning to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth.
