Terminalia argentea, commonly known as Silver Terminalia or Silver Almond, is a deciduous tree native to the savannas and dry forests of South America. It exhibits a moderate growth rate, reaching heights of 50-80 feet (15-24 meters) with a spreading canopy that provides dappled shade. The tree is characterized by its distinctive silvery-white bark and dense foliage. It produces inconspicuous yellow or white flowers during the spring and summer, which are followed by winged fruits that attract wildlife.

Silver Terminalia is valued for its drought tolerance and its ability to thrive in challenging environments, making it suitable for reforestation projects and as a shade tree in hot climates. It is also used in traditional medicine and has potential as an ornamental tree in large gardens or public spaces. This species prefers full sun to part shade and adapts to a range of soil types, including clay, loam, and sandy soils, provided they have medium to fast drainage.
