Acacia schinoides, commonly known as Green Cedar Wattle, is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to the open woodlands and forest edges of New South Wales, Australia. It typically grows to a height of 2 to 10 meters (7 to 33 ft) and has a bushy habit. The Green Cedar Wattle features narrow, lance-shaped phyllodes (leaf-like structures) and produces cream-colored, ball-shaped flowers in the summer, which are moderately showy and attract pollinators. Its bark is smooth and can have a reddish-brown tint, adding to its visual interest.

The Green Cedar Wattle is valued for its rapid growth and adaptability to a range of light conditions, from full sun to full shade. It is frost-tolerant, surviving temperatures as low as −7 °C, making it suitable for a variety of climates. This species is often used as a garden hedge due to its dense foliage and can also serve as a windbreak or for erosion control. It thrives in well-composted soil with medium drainage and requires very low to low water once established, making it a low-maintenance choice for water-wise gardens.
